Our customers, Allie and Meng, are still in the process of adopting a beautiful little girl but were able to deliver the hats during their last visit. Allie told us it was like Christmas. These kids really don’t have anything of their own and share everything. An extra large hat went to the director of the orphanage that almost cried when receiving the gift. Allie and Meng wanted everyone to know how much the hats meant to the kids. These are kids that eat off of 75 cents a day (usually some tea and a roll for dinner) so quality gifts as rare! Thank you so much for everyone’s gift of hats to warm their hearts!!!

We have decided to change our hours to simplify them and make it more convenient for the majority of our customers. They are now Tuesday-Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday 12-4. We will still be opening early every Wednesday Morning at 9AM for knit morning and will be staying open late on the first Thursday Night of the month. We hope to also have more Thursday evening events as well as start to schedule evening classes. Now Sophie has no excuse not to cook dinner.

Owning a yarn store is a wonderful adventure, filled with funny stories, amazing people and of course yummy fibers. I hope to be sble to share these stories and people as well as keep you up to date of events and specials.
This week Chiaki and I are off to the TNNA Tradeshow for a few days. Both of us are taking classes as well as checking out new products.
Also, I hope to attach a free pattern from time to time. Here’s one to start. We sell the yarn in small quantities at the store but stash yarn would work well too!
Happy New Year
Rainbow Hat Pattern from Bluebird.pdf

First time riding a bike, first time going to camp, first time knitting, first crush.... And with each first there is nervousness and excitement. As an adult, “firsts” generate the same emotional response. My big first this last year was starting a business as you know but just as exciting for me was printing my first patterns. I have to say it takes a lot of work to create a pattern. The design work takes time but the trickier part is the editing and formating. I love to see people get excited about knitting something I created. I hope those of you who design and write patterns find as much joy as I have creating mine.
